Toyota has finally revealed the new Fortuner facelift in Thailand. The SUV is quite popular in India as well as in other foreign markets. Talking about the 2021 model, it gets updated styling, a more potent engine and some newly added features. In the Indian market, it competes with the likes of Mahindra Alturas G4 and Ford Endeavour. In place of the TRD SPORTIVO trim, the carmaker has launched a new Fortuner Legender variant with distinctive and aggressive styling changes. Talking about the visual changes, the new 2021 model gets new LED headlamps with LED DRLS, which look quite similar to the ones offered on the Yaris sedan. Moreover, there is also a black eye-brow like treatment on the new headlamps, which gels pretty well with the slimmer grille.

The lower part of the bumper gets wide air-dam with blacked-out mesh pattern and new silver-coloured faux skid plate. Moreover, it also features LED fog lamps surrounded by blacked-out housing. The updated SUV also features Lexus-like sequential side indicators on the lower bumper. The SUV now gets newly-designed 20-inch two-tone alloy wheels. The side profile of the SUV gets blacked-out side mirrors with integrated turn blinkers and blacked-out B-pillar & roof.

The rear profile of the SUV employs a new set of headlamps with LED bar light, spoiler with an integrated stop light, new bumper and shark fin antenna. Inside, the new Toyota Fortuner Legender looks quite similar to the regular model. Nevertheless, it gets a new 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.

The new Toyota Fortuner Legender is powered by two different engine options- a 2.4-litre and a 2.8-litre turbocharged diesel engines. The 2.8-litre diesel unit produces 201bhp of peak power and 500 Nm of peak torque. The new engine produces 27bhpof more power and 50Nm of more torque compared to the previous model. The engine comes paired with a 6-speed MT or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The new 2021 Toyota Fortuner is expected to hit the Indian shores in the upcoming months.
