Early this year, the automaker launched the facelifted model of the car with cosmetic and feature updates. The upcoming Kia SUV will be retailed with three engine and five transmission choices. In response, one can expect Tata Motors to roll-out a few updates to the Nexon's equipment list. Recently, Tata has released a new teaser of the Nexon but is yet not confirmed what the carmaker will launch after 2 days. We expect it to be the DCT trim of the SUV because it has been spied previously on tests. The upcoming Tata Nexon with a DCT will rival the high-end petrol automatic variants of the Hyundai Venue and the Kia Sonet, which are offered with a turbo-petrol engine and advanced gearbox options. Tata Nexon already has a turbo-petrol engine on offer, and adding the option of a DCT will make the deal furthermore lucrative. Moreover, one can also expect the same transmission and engine option to be offered on the Tata Altroz.

Currently, Tata Nexon is powered by 1.2-litre turbocharged Revotron engine and a 1.5-litre turbocharged Revotorq engine. The former develops 118bhp of power and 170 Nm of torque, while the latter puts out power and torque outputs of 108bhp and 260 Nm, respectively. Both the engines can be had paired to either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed AMT. The DCT option will be offered with the top-spec petrol variant of the Nexon and is expected to be priced around Rs. 12 lakh (ex-showroom). The teaser image says “2 days to go”, which means that the new model of the Nexon will be revealed on 2nd August 2020.
