Tata Nexon has been the blockbuster of Tata production line. This SUV has proved to be the solid choice in the SUV segment as well as the main factor driving the Tata brand to become a much more premium brand name.
To capitalize on this robust demand of India on the SUV segment, Tata has recently announced to launch the Tata Nexon JTP performance edition in 2020.
JTP performance editions are considered as the result from the joint venture between Tata Motors and Jayem Automotive in Coimbatore. The first two cars from this combination are the Tata Tigor JTP and Tata Tiago JTP. These cars have been already unveiled at the 2018 Indian Auto Expo.
Accordingly, JTP or Jayem-Tata Performance will be emerged as a new sub-brand, in which, Tata Motors will use to introduce and sell the high-performance variants of its regular cars profile.

In a press release, the Tiago JTP, the first of Tata’s performance-oriented JTP products, will go on sale by Diwali this year. It also comes as no surprise that Tigor JTP will be followed by the Tigor JTP. That Tata has confirmed the presence of Nexon JTP is said by Mayank Pareek.
"With the JTP models, we have to prioritise. It will certainly happen. Not right now, not in the next six to eight weeks. But yes, later, it will happen," said Pareek.
As for the outside look, the Nexon JTP will be appeared with a more aggressive look compared to the standard compact SUV. The body kit is replete with
Enlarged air dam
Exaggerated housings for the fog lamps (with contrasting red detailing)
Smoked projector headlamps
Side skirts
New design alloy wheels
Faux rear diffuser
Regard of the interior, the car is expected to get an all-black theme as the Tiago JTP and leather upholstery along with the contrast red stitching as well as the aluminium pedals.

The Nexon JTP’s engine would be based on a BS-VI emission norms-compliant version of Tata’s 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine. The technical details have not revealed yet. However, the JTP version would definitely offer an increase in power compared to the current 110hp. The six-speed gearbox’s ratios will see small changes which are in the interest of enhanced performance. Apart from the Tiago JTP, the Nexon JTP is also expected to get a suspension upgrade.
