Tata Motors introduced the new 2020 Nexon facelift in our market early this year. The car now features subtle cosmetic and feature updates. The new 2020 model of the SUV is now facing a surge in demand as the new buyers around the country has again started preferring India’s safest SUV against its rivals. According to a recent report, Tata Motors manages to retail 5,179 units of Nexon in India last month as against the 2,275 units the automaker sold in the same month last year. As compared to its rivals, the Tata SUV grabbed the top spot in terms of YoY sales. Tata Nexon has now closed the gap with its direct rival Maruti Vitara Brezza. Maruti sold 6,903 units of Vitara Brezza in August 2020.

Last month, Hyundai Venue was the top-selling car in its segment as the automaker registered total sales of 8,267 units. The new 2020 Tata Nexon is among the top three best-selling cars in the sub-4-meter SUV space. The car has outsold Mahindra XUV300, Ford EcoSport and Honda WR-V. Moreover, the automaker has also recently introduced the new XM(S) trim of Nexon, which has been priced at Rs 8.36 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). This trim features an electronic sunroof, which makes it the most affordable SUV in its segment for offering this feature. Other than this, it also employs features automatic headlamps, steering mounted controls and rain-sensing wipers. Moreover, it also features Electronic Stability Program, LED DRLs with Projector Headlamps, Hill Hold Control, Driver and Co-Driver Airbags, Connect Next Infotainment System by Harman and Multi- Drive Modes.

Tata Nexon is one of the best-selling products in the carmaker’s stable. Mechanically, it derives power from a 1.2-litre diesel and a 1.5-litre petrol engine. The former puts out 118bhp of power and 170 Nm of peak torque, while the latter produces power and torque outputs of 108bhp and 260 Nm. Both the engines come paired with a 6-speed MT or a 6-speed AMT. The 2020 Tata Nexon is retailed at a starting price of Rs 7 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and goes all the way up to Rs 12.70 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
