Hyundai Venue is offered with two petrol engines, 1.2-litre petrol and a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol unit. Among these two units, the smaller turbocharged 3-cylinder engine is more powerful, being capable of generating a top power of 120PS along with a maximum power of 172Nm. This engine is mated to either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 7-speed dual-clutch unit. It is available across the range with the only exception of the base E trim. On the other hand, paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox, the 1.2-litre petrol engine can deliver a peak power of 83 PS and a top torque of 115 Nm. The use of this engine, however, is limited to the E and S variant only.
About Tata Altroz, the only 1.2-litre petrol engine is good for top power of 86 PS and a maximum torque of 113 Nm. It is offered with a 5-speed manual transmission.

Hyundai Venue’s 1.4-litre diesel engine is able to make a top power output of 90PS/220Nm. This engine comes exclusively with a 6-speed manual gearbox and no automatic option is offered for this engine.
On the other hand, Tata Altroz’s diesel range derives power from a 1.5-litre diesel engine. Compared to the Hyundai Venue diesel, the Altroz diesel’s power figure is rated at the same level (90PS) while the torque of 200 Nm is not as high as the SUV’s 1.4-litre diesel engine. Similar to its petrol counterpart, the diesel version will have the power transferred to the wheels through the 5-speed manual transmission.

At the moment, Tata hasn’t revealed the official ARAI fuel mileage of the Altroz yet. On the other hand, Hyundai Venue’s fuel economy figures have been made public.
