Maruti Suzuki has recently taken the wrap off their new facelift Baleno. 2019 facelift updates have brought in some slight changes on the exterior and interior of the car. The price of the Baleno after updates are ranging from Rs 5.45 to 8.77 lakh. Shortly afterwards, the performance-oriented Baleno RS will also be revised accordingly. The price of the new Baleno rates at Rs 8.76 lakh. It is higher than its predecessors by Rs 29,000 and marginally lower than the top-spec Baleno.
Compared with the standard version, the RS is more aggressive in styling. In the 2019 version, it even takes one step further. It is given a redesigned fascia with bold updates. Specifically, its sports a new honeycomb grille, reshaped lower air dam, and new fog lamp housing.
Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS will be given new facelift shortly after the launch of the standard Baleno 2019
In line with the updates on the standard Baleno, the RS will also be given a LED projector headlamps, 16-inch alloy wheels and premium LED rear combination lamps for the exterior. Inside the car, the details of the Baleno is not laid bare yet. However, it is confirmed to come with 7-inch SmartPlay Studio touchscreen infotainment system. Some safety add-ons are expected too. However, the features updates are not significant. Given that the ongoing offers of the RS could be considered decent, further updates are not desirable. Here are some goodies that are recently featured on Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS:
Climate control
Touchscreen infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support
Push button start
Multi-function steering wheel
Reverse parking sensors with a parking camera
Auto-dimming IRVM
On the mechanical front, the Maruti Baleno RS isn’t given many changes. The 2019 Maruti Baleno RS continues to feature the same 1.0-litre turbocharged engine from the previous model. This unit is good for the maximum power of 100bhp and 150Nm. The power will be transferred to the wheels via the 5-speed manual transmission. And the fuel efficiency remains at 21.1kmpl. Updates are given to the suspension system, possibly leading to stiffer ride quality.
Maruti Suzuki Baleno is now competing with VW Polo GT TSI and Fiat Abarth Punto.
