Hyundai Verna facelift was recently launched in India at a starting price Rs. 9.31 lakh. The new model features plenty of cosmetic changes over the previous one, along with some serious mechanical changes as well.
The facelifted Hyundai Verna is now more expensive than the previous model. The base variant now costs Rs. 9.31 lakh, as opposed to Rs. 8.18 lakh before. The top-trim (diesel automatic) is priced at 15.10 lakh against 14.08 previously. The price gap between the new model and the old one is quite significant, but considering the added technology on-board, the cost seems justified. The complete price list is as follows.

The exterior styling has been tweaked to look sharper and angrier than before. The headlamps are sleeker and the front grille is larger. The fog lamp housings are redesigned, as are the taillights. The side profile, however, remains the same as before. There has also been no change to the overall dimensions of the car. The interior design has seen some minor changes though. The car now gets faux-wood inserts and redesigned AC vents. The biggest change though, comes in the equipment list.

The 2020 Hyundai Verna facelift compete against the likes of Maruti Ciaz, Honda City, Skoda Rapid, Volkswagen Vento, and Toyota Yaris. Surprisingly, none of the competitors here offer a BSVI-compliant diesel engine option at this moment, which could be the Verna’s trump card in this segment, at least until the arrival of the next-gen Honda City, which is expected to feature a diesel powerplant as well.
