2020 Skoda Superb, Rapid 1.0 TSI Launched

Skoda launched the 2020 Superb and Rapid 1.0-litre TSI later today. The complete price list is given below.

Skoda Auto India Pvt Ltd has launched two BSVI-compliant sedans in India today- the 2020 Superb and Rapid 1.0 TSI. The carmaker has been accepting bookings for both the models for a token amount of Rs 50,000. Talking about the 2020 Superb facelift, the new premium D-segment sedan will be offered in two different trim levels namely- Laurin & Klement (L&K) and Sportline. The car is priced between Rs 29.99 lakh and Rs. 32.99 lakh. As for the Skoda Rapid, it is available from Rs. 7.49 lakh to 11.79 lakh. All prices mentioned here are ex-showroom, pan India.

Showcased earlier this year at 2020 Auto Expo, the new Skoda Superb has received a few styling changes, which consist of new LED headlamps, a redesigned front grille & bumper and a lot of chrome bits at the back. The new LED lighting equipped at the front and rear enhance the premium quotient of the sedan. The cabin of the 2020 Superb features an updated touchscreen infotainment system, wireless smartphone charging pad, company’s Virtual Cockpit instrument cluster and some other convenience features.

The new Skoda Superb is propelled by a 2.0-litre turbocharged gasoline engine that produces 190bhp of power and 320 Nm of torque. The engine will come mated to a 7-speed DCT. Moreover, the new BS6 Skoda Rapid was showcased alongside the new Superb and Karoq at the expo. The updated C-sedan will be powered by a 1.0-litre TSI turbocharged petrol mill, which churns out 110bhp of peak power and 175 Nm of peak torque.

The same power plant does duties in the BS6 VW Vento and Polo. At the moment, the updated sedan is only being offered with a manual transmission, but the carmaker has plans to introduce an automatic gearbox with the car by the end of this year. There are a few upgrades to the interior of the car, including a larger 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The exterior changes are limited to new alloy wheels and a boot-integrated spoiler. This C-sedan will rub shoulders with the likes of Hyundai Verna, Honda City and Maruti Ciaz.
