2018 Ford Aspire is scheduled to be released into Indian auto market on October 4 with a price range of Rs 5.5-8.5 lakhs.

Refreshed exterior

The 2018 Ford Aspire Facelift will get a new design, borrowing styling cues from the 2018 Figo and Ford Ka+. This compact sedan is expected to get a front fascia featuring an updated honeycomb chrome grille, LED daytime running lamps, newly-designed head and tail lamps and a wider air dam. The rear will also be slightly revised with an improved bumper and refined multi-spoke alloy wheels.

Updated interior

The 2018 Ford Aspire Facelift will have a newly-designed cabin with a black and beige colour scheme. A new floating touchscreen infotainment system is present while there are almost no changes to the dashboard. The new Ford Aspire will witness a wide range of novel comfort and safety features such as dual airbags, Isofix child seat anchors, ABS with EBD and rear parking sensors on the base variants; hill launch assist, side and curtain airbags, traction control system and dynamic stability control on the higher-spec variants.

Refined engine

Like with the Ford Freestyle, a new 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine from the Dragon series is expected to provide power for the 2018 Ford Aspire Facelift. This engine is capable of producing 96 PS power and 120 Nm torque and paired with a 5-speed manual transmission.

The new Ford Aspire is expected to be priced at Rs 5.5-8.5 lakhs, directly rivalling the new Honda Amaze, the Maruti Dzire and the Hyundai Xcent.

Growing sales are expected by Ford India, thanks to the launch of new vehicles including the Ford Aspire. These new vehicles are expected to contribute to the recovery of Ford India from a slump, which has resulted in a cost-cutting mode.
