Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL), India’s largest carmaker, has recently launched the BSVI-compliant version of their budget crossover-hatchback, the Celerio X.
Maruti Celerio X (BSVI model) launched in India
The crossover-inspired is based on the Celerio, and uses the same 1.0-litre naturally-aspirated inline-3, K-series engine. This powerplant can generate a maximum power of 69 PS and a peak torque of 90 Nm. Although the output is the same as before, the fuel economy has reduced slightly compared to the BSIV model. It comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and a 5-speed AMT (dubbed AGS, short for Auto Gear Shift, by Maruti).
As stated prior, the fuel economy of the new Celerio X (BS6) has reduced. The car now offers a claimed mileage of 21.63 kmpl, down from the 23.1 kmpl delivered by the BS4 model. Also, there is no S-CNG variant on sale at the moment, in contrast to other Maruti cars like the S-Presso, Wagon R, and even the regular Celerio.

There are absolutely no changes to the styling of the car. The exterior features the same, Celerio-based design as before, with black accents starting from each headlamp and going down to the fog lamp housings. To emphasis the crossover-quotient, you get plastic cladding on the wheel arches, side skirts, and the front and rear bumpers. The cabin maintains its previous design as well. There is a multifunction steering wheel on offer, along with a driver information display for the instrument cluster. You also get ABS, EBD, driver airbag, rear parking sensors, over-speed alert, door-open warning, and seat belt reminders (front seats).
