Recently, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (MSIL) showcased its Futuro-e Concept at Auto Expo 2020. The futuristic SUV concept took us by surprise as since now, it was being speculated that this branding would be used to preview a Wagon R-based EV. However, what we instead have is a very stylish design study that gives us a sneak peek into a section of the company's future portfolio.

Maruti took the wraps off the Futuro-e Concept at the Auto Expo 2020.

Designed in-house by Maruti Suzuki, the new SUV concept opens a new chapter in the company's design theme. Therefore, it also helps us imagine what a future Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta-sized model from the country's largest-selling carmaker would look like. For the uninitiated, the Futuro-e is four-seater electric-powered coupe-SUV that will allow the front passenger to use a swivel feature for the seat to face the rear occupants. In fact, even the driver benefits from this feature as the concept supports autonomous driving technology.

Speaking of the design, the front-end of the Maruti Futuro-e looks much sharper than that of any vehicle in the company's portfolio. It features bold fenders, a curvaceous hood and strking LED elements. Other highlights of the desing include a coupe-like roofline, a pillar-less greehouse, a steeply raking rear-end, and Y-shaped LED taillamps. On the inside, the Maruti Futuro-e has been kitted u using the minimalistic design philosophy. The colour theme of the cabin is dual-tone blue-ivory scheme, while the features highlights include wide sweeping screens that offer controls are spotted across the dashboard. The steering wheel has a futuristic layout and looks inspired from the joystick available in a spaceship.

The production-spec Futuro-e could spawn a Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta rival.
