Mclaren is now offering the LT version of 720S and it is called - 765LT. Priced at $ 358,000, the LT boasts of a rated output of 755 HP and only 765 units of the car will be made.

Short stroke engines are loved for their brutal rev range. Short gearing is known for the instant acceleration surge it offers. Short-throw gearboxes are easy to operate. It means, short is always exciting. For the very reason, Mclaren loves to keep the lifecycle of its models rather short than other manufacturers who sell their supercars and hypercars for at least a decade before bringing in their successors. Mclaren brought the 720S in front of the masses in 2017 and now in 2020; we are admiring the longtail version of that very same supercar.

Mclaren 765LT is priced at $ 358,000, which is equivalent to Rs. 2.7 Crores (excluding taxes).

However, like other LT (longtail) Mclaren cars, this one is longer and lighter than the car is it is based on. But, do not get confused with the LT tag, as the extra length is courtesy of an extended front splitter, not an elongated tail this time. In total, it is 57 mm longer than the 720S. Mclaren says the LT suffix now means increased performance than just an increase in the car’s length. Sound legit, as, at the end of the day, it is the performance that matters.

Talking of the weight reduction, it has shed a full 176 pounds (~80 kilograms) in comparison to the base car. It was all possible with the simple science of replacing the heavier metal with Titanium at places like wheel nuts, exhaust headers, and more. Also, the windows are now made of polycarbonate and the cabin is stripped-out of everything that was found to be of no use while driving this beauty on a race track.

Mclaren 765LT is offered with no air conditioning or infotainment unit but they can be had as an option.

The bragging rights for the Mclaren 765LT are courtesy of a peak power output of 755 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque from a 4.0L twin-turbo V-8 engine. Handling all of it in the first place will be a 7-speed DCT, which will then route the output to the wheels. In result, the car can reach 100 kmph in just 2.7 seconds and 200 kmph in 7.2 seconds. Marvellous, isn’t it?

The aerodynamic parameters on the long tail are also tweaked out to a fair extent in comparison to the 720S. With a new front splitter, side skirts, rear diffuser, and an electronically controlled spoiler, the downforce is increased by a full 25 per cent than the 720S. And to stop this ballistic missile, Mclaren has used the same callipers over the carbon-ceramic rotors as the Mclaren Senna track car.
