Dimensionally, the all-new crossover SUV is 4180 mm long, 1765 mm wide and 1,560 mm tall. The size of the Toyota Yaris Cross is close to that of the European-spec VW T-Cross, which is, 4180 mm long, 1799 mm wide and 1584 mm tall. Moreover, the T-Cross has a wheelbase of 2551 mm, while its Japanese rival has 2560 mm of wheelbase.

The all-new Toyota Yaris Cross is based on the GA-B version of the TNGA platform. The new crossover SUV is not at all related to the Yaris sedan retailed in the Indian market. The upcoming SUV is related to the Mk4 Toyota Yaris family, which was first introduced with a new hatchback in October last year. The automaker will offer the new Yaris Cross in petrol and hybrid trims. The gasoline variant will feature an M15A-FKS 1.5-litre direct-injection three-pot petrol unit, which puts out 120 PS of power and 145 Nm of peak torque.
On the other hand, the hybrid trim will be powered by an M15A-FXE 1.5-litre direct injection three-cylinder petrol motor along with an electric motor, which churns out a combined power and torque output of 91 PS and 120 Nm. The petrol trim will come paired with a 6-speed MT or a CVT, while the hybrid variant will be offered with an e-CVT gearbox.
