Tata Nexon is one of the best-selling products of the indigenous carmaker. Also, it was the first Indian-made car to score a complete 5-star crash test rating at Global NCAP. The Nexon was updated with a set of BS-6 compliant engine options and some cosmetic changes. Interestingly, these changes have helped the Nexon attract a lot more buyers, and the count is increasing by every passing month. Last month, Tata Motors sold a total of 6,888 units of the Nexon in the Indian market. In comparison to 4,438 units sold in October last year, it is a growth of 55 per cent on a YoY basis. A similar suit was followed by all the participants of the sub-4m compact-SUV segment except for the Mahindra TUV300 since it is temporarily not on sale.

Talking of other cars in this segment, Maruti Vitara Brezza topped the charts with a sales figure of 12,087 units. However, the YoY growth for the Brezza hovers around at 18 per cent. The first runner-up of this list is the Kia Sonet. Also, it is the newest entrant in the Indian market. It managed to clock a sales figure of 11,721 units.
The second runner-up in this list is the Hyundai Venue, which registered sales of 8,828 units with a growth of 3 per cent on a YoY basis. However, the highest YoY growth is registered by the Mahindra XUV300. Mahindra could sell only 3,045 units of this compact-SUV in October, last year, whereas this year, the carmaker sold a total of 4,882 units, thus registering a growth of 60 per cent on a YoY basis.

Tata Nexon EV Driving Range Tested In Real-World Conditions
Talking of the Nexon, it is offered with two engine options – 1.2L petrol and 1.5L diesel. The turbocharged petrol unit boasts of a 3-cylinder layout and belts out a rated power and torque output of 120 PS and max torque of 170 Nm. The diesel engine, however, is capable of generating a peak power output of 110 PS and max torque of 260 Nm. The gearbox options on the Nexon include a 6-speed MT and 6-speed AMT. Moreover, an all-electric variant of the Nexon is also available in the market, which is priced at Rs. 13.99 lakh.
