Tata Safari is one of the most celebrated cars in the Indian automotive industry. It went on sale in the Indian market for the first time in the year 1998. However, with stringent emission norms coming in to effect, Tata Motors discontinued the Safari in late 2019. While it was a sad moment for the Safari patrons, Tata Motors has now brought back the nameplate to the Indian market again, and it now starts at Rs. 14.69 lakh. The 2021 Tata Safari was planned to go on sale as the Gravitas, which was showcased at the Auto Expo last year. After receiving a warm response from the crowd at the Auto Expo 2020, Tata Motors has finally launched it with the legendary name - Tata Safari.
2021 Tata Safari vs Tata Harrier – Specifications
While it essentially is a 3-row iteration of the Harrier, the new Safari manages to boast of enough distinctions to stand out from the crowd. On the front, the vertically-split headlamp setup looks modern, and so does the new grille, which features a tri-arrow pattern for the chrome embellishments. The most noticeable difference, however, is on the sides. The Safari is longer by 63 mm and taller by 80 mm when compared to the Harrier. The increment in dimensions has helped the new Safari with more cabin space than the Harrier.
