The India authorities, specifically the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, has recently proposed a new driving license and vehicle registration norms in India. The new norms guiding driving licence and vehicle registration will come into effect across India in October 2019

In an effort to build up a central online database for motorists, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MorTH) has reportedly released a new norm to regulate the driver licence and vehicle registration in India. These rules will become effective pan-India from the 01st of October, 2019. As per the upcoming revised norms, the driving license or registration card all over the states will get the same security features and especially attached with a QR formula to keep the record of driver’s data including traffic violation in around 10 years.

The renewed upcoming regulators will be enacted and take effect across the nation

It is believed that the central online database will be very convenient for authorities to inspect and keep track of drivers and vehicles around the states. Traffic policemen then will be given a tracking device convertible with the QR code to catch hold of the offender in the past and recent violations. The supervision will have a permit to install a chip in the driving license card which uses near-field communication (NFC) feature and simultaneously print an emergency contact number on the card’s reverse side. Moreover, these new types of licenses will embody all information about the differently-abled drivers with their specific limitations as well as modifications on their respective vehicles all to help them drive.

The QR formula will be applied in the new driving license and registration card

Information like fuel type, emission and owner’s details will be covered in the new vehicle registration card. It will get the same format with a chip on the front and QR technology on the reverse side. These new modernized licenses and cards will also be improved in terms of quality and peculiarity to avoid faded printing over the ages like the stream ones.
