According to the vehicle registration data published by the Federation of Automobile Dealers Association (FADA), the car sales registration has faced negative YoY growth of -38.34 per cent last month. Compared to the 2,05,011 units retailed in the same month last year, a total of 1,26,417 units were sold last month. All the states and Union Territories around India have registered negative growth in car sales in June 2020.

UP has grabbed the top position in the list by selling 14,511 units last month. In the same month last year, 22,903 units were sold, which simply translates into YoY loss of -36.64 per cent. The second position is acquired by Gujarat by selling 12,432 units, which interprets into a YoY loss of -26.28 per cent. The car sales in June 2019 stood at 16,863 units.
India Wants EVs to Account For 15% Of The Total Car Sales By 2023
At number three is Karnataka with sales of 11,232 units, a YoY loss of -31.91 per cent as against the 16,497 units retailed in the same month last year. Moreover, the other five states in the top 10 list are Kerala (8,624 units), Rajasthan (7,988), Haryana (7,896), Delhi (7,659), and Punjab (4,930). In the top 10 list of states, the maximum YoY de-growth was faced by Maharashtra, Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
