Currently, Honda City is available in both diesel and petrol version. The cost of servicing and maintenance is different for both the variants, however the service schedule for both fuel types variants is the same. In general, it is recommended that you should schedule for servicing and maintaining your Honda City every 6 months.
Honda City should be checked one month or 1000 km after being purchased
A new Honda City should be brought to Honda’s service centre one month after the purchase or after 1,000 Km driven, whichever is earlier. The first three services will be provided for free.
1st Service: 1000 Km or 1 month
2nd Service: 5000 Km or 3 Months
3rd Service: 10,000 Km or 6 Months
On the first service, Honda will not charge any cost for any standard service. In the second service, the labour will be provided at no cost. During the third time, the car owner will have to pay for engine oil, oil filter and drain washer service.

In the first 6 months, Honda City needs to have its engine oil, oil filter and drain washer changed, for both diesel and petrol engine. Wheel alignment and balancing, as well as tyre rotation, should be performed every 10,000 km. Some other car parts that also need frequently check and replacement are air filter and cabin AC pollen filter. These parts should be cleaned and replaced frequently, every 20,000 km to 30,000 km. Spark plug, brake fluid, clutch fluid, coolant or transmission oil requires a less frequent check.

The out-going Honda City is now available with two engine options, 1.5-litre petrol and a 1.5 diesel engine. The petrol engine is capable of making 119 PS and 145 Nm of peak power and torque respectively. It is paired with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a CVT gearbox. Coupled with a 6-speed manual gearbox, the 1.5-litre diesel engine generates a top power of 100 PS and a peak torque of 200 Nm.
