When Mahindra launched the XUV 500 back in 2011, it heralded a new era for the Indian UV manufacturer. Formerly known for selling mainly the Bolero and Scorpio SUVs, The XUV 500 was something all-new for the brand. It was the first Mahindra product to be built with a monocoque chassis, giving it much better car-like dynamics and ride quality. It also came as a front-wheel-drive only model unless you put a specific order for the 4x4 version, compared to the rear-wheel-drive or full-time 4x4 for all its previous vehicles. Ever since its launch, it has been a strong seller in a competitive segment, which has seen the likes of the Tata Harrier and MG Hector Plus join as well. Today we have got a modified XUV 500 and Harrier which should give you instant travel goals.
Upcoming New-gen Mahindra XUV500 Rendered, Looks Alluring
As you can see in the picture above, the Mahindra XUV 500 and the Tata Harrier both have got roof-mounted tents fitted to them. But that is not all as both come with all the things that you will need when you venture out into the unknown. You get ladders to climb up the tents, portable tables and chairs, gas stoves, and some extra Christmas lights to set the mood. The tents itself are pretty big enough to accommodate two people at once, and it fits well into the roof of the SUVs because of their large size. We are in the midst of a brutal pandemic that is Covid-19, and most of us are feeling cabin fever after staying indoors for so long. Well if you have an XUV 500 or Harrier, then plonk one of these tents on your roof and make your own vacation, free from the fear of any social interaction and the ensuing infection.
The Mahindra XUV 500 is powered by a 2.2-litre turbo-diesel which makes peak power and torque figures of 155 PS/360 Nm and can be paired with a 6-speed manual or automatic. Powering the Tata Harrier is an FCA-sourced 2.0-litre diesel making 170 PS/350 Nm of peak power and torque figures which is mated to a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed auto.
