2019 Volkswagen Polo GT TDI First Drive Review (Hindi)
Last year, Volkswagen launched the Polo facelift, and earlier this year, Volkswagen has given the Polo and the Vento the requested BSVI updates. The BSVI enhancement has delivered some big changes for both the Polo and its sedan counterpart. The updates include a new 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine as well as a new TSI Edition variant. Aesthetically, the Volkswagen Polo and Vento continue to look more or less the same as they have looked throughout their 11 years of the production run in India.
Ford Figo vs Volkswagen Polo Comparison - Which Hatchback is Better?
In the recent updates, Volkswagen has discontinued the old engine range including an old 1.5-litre TDI and 1.2-litre TSI engine. On the BSVI version, Volkswagen Polo is now offered with two engine options, a 1.0-litre MPI petrol engine and 1.0-litre TSI turbocharged petrol engine. While the former is used on the entry-level variants, the latter is powering the high-end variants. Mated to 5-speed MT, the 1.0-litre MPI engine is capable of churning out a peak power of 75 PS and max torque of 95 Nm. The TSI unit is more powerful with 110 PS of peak power and 175 Nm of peak torque on offer. This engine is available with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed AT. At the moment, the Volkswagen Polo is a petrol-only car.

Apart from multiple powertrain options, the Volkswagen Polo also offers a decent feature list with various upmarket techs like cruise control, automatic climate control and rear AC vents, 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and rain-sensing wipers. The newly-added TSI Edition comes with other cosmetic additions, which increase the sporty quotient to the hatchback.
