Toyota Urban Cruiser will be the next major launch from the local subsidiary of the Japanese car manufacturer giant this year. The Urban Cruiser is also the second 'badge-engineered' vehicle to be launched under the partnership between Toyota and Maruti Suzuki. Booking for the upcoming SUV are already underway for a token price of Rs 11,000. The launch is expected to take place in September. Ahead of the launch, Toyota has revealed the design and specifications of the upcoming Maruti Vitara Brezza-based model.
As for the exterior, the Toyota Urban Cruiser carries some distinctive traits that differentiate it from Maruti Vitara Brezza. It gets a different grille with chrome garnished slats and a new fog light housings. Moreover, the Toyota Urban Cruiser features extensive use of LED across the exterior, for example, the LED projector headlights, LED DRLs integrated with indicators, LED fog lights, LED stop lamps, as well as LED taillights.

Toyota will offer nine colour choices for its sub-four-meter SUV, including 6 monotone and three dual-tone options. Here is the list of the colour options available on the Toyota Urban Cruiser:

Even though the images of the cabin are not released yet, Toyota confirms that the cabin of the upcoming compact SUV will sport a dual-tone dark-brown colour scheme. In addition, since Toyota will offer the Toyota Urban Cruiser in the high-range variants, this SUV’s equipment will be on par with Maruti Vitara Brezza’s top variants. It will come with features like Smart Playcast infotainment touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple Carplay, smart entry with engine push start/stop, cruise control, automatic climate control and rain-sensing wipers and more.
Toyota Urban Cruiser will come with 9 colour options
In terms of engine specs, Toyota Urban Cruiser carries the same 1.5-litre four-cylinder K-series petrol engine as the recently updated Maruti Vitara Brezza. This engine is good for 104 PS of maximum power and 138 Nm of peak torque. It comes with both manual and automatic transmissions. The former is a 5-speed manual unit, while the latter is a 4-speed torque-converter automatic transmission. Both the variants will benefit from the SHVS mild-hybrid technology. It may be noted here that so far, only the automatic variant of the Maruti Vitara Brezza features the mild-hybrid tech.
