The upcoming 2021 Kia Sonet is all-set to make its public debut on 7th August 2021. From the past few weeks, the carmaker is revealing teasers images and video of the car, which gives us an idea that how the upcoming Kia sub-4-meter SUV could look like. Here’s a new teaser video uploaded by Kia Motors Indian official YouTube channel, which shows that the partially revealed rear of the SUV. The upcoming SUV will feature a lot of unique design elements of the concept model, which was showcased early this year at the 2020 Auto Expo, however, in toned-down form. One of the most appealing elements here is the two rectangular LED taillights, which are connected full-width red coloured strip.
Kia Sonet Spotted; Many Details Revealed
The taillamps feature squarish element, but the strip connecting them doesn’t light up. The images of the SUV leaked earlier shows that the concave boot lid showcased with the concept model has been smoothened out, but the chunky skid plate remains the same. The front fascia of the Sonet is not visible here but is expected to look quite aggressive. Upfront, the production-spec Kia Sonet will employ ‘Tiger Nose’ grille upfront, silver-coloured faux skid plate and sporty looking bumper. Once launched, it’ll compete with the likes of Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Maruti Vitara Brezza and Ford EcoSport. The carmaker will soon reveal the official feature list of the car.
Upcoming Kia Sonet Official Rendering Revealed
Dimensionally, the all-new Kia Sonet will be 3,995 mm long, 1,770 mm wide and 1,605 mm tall. The car will have a wheelbase of 2,500 mm. The carmaker has said that the all-new Sonet will come loaded with a lot of segment-first features. Inside, the SUV will feature a touchscreen infotainment system, Bose sound system, Kia’s UVO in-car connectivity suit, keyless entry, wireless charging, automatic climate control, ABS with EBD and much more. Kia will derive power from three different engine options- a 1.2-litre NA petrol, 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel motor.
