Kia Sonet New Badge Trims Start Reaching Dealerships

The new 2021 Kia Sonet has started reaching across the dealerships across India. It derives power from three different powertrain options.

Last year, the Korean automaker Kia launched its first sub-4-meter SUV in the country namely- Sonet. It became the top-selling car in India in the very first month of its launch. Right now, it is among the best-selling SUVs in the sub-4-meter SUV space. Moreover, it is also one of the most feature-loaded crossovers in its segment. Kia Sonet is among the most premium and feature-loaded sub-compact SUVs. At the time of its launch, Kia had announced that Sonet will be made in India for the world. Right now, the India-made Sonet is exported in many international markets. Recently, the carmaker has also revealed the 7-seater version of the SUV in Indonesia.

In the coming days, Kia Motors will launch the updated version of Sonet and Seltos. One of the biggest updates will be the addition of the company’s new logo, which was unveiled globally a few months back. The first units have started reaching dealerships across the country. A few days back, Kia revealed to the dealers that they are planning to discontinue HTK+ DCT, Turbo Petrol and HTK Plus AT Diesel. The new model of Kia Sonet will not feature any major feature updates. Talking about its equipment list, some of the feature highlights will consist of a wireless phone charger, engine start-stop button, 7-speaker Bose audio system, connected car tech, electric sunroof, rear AC vents, ambient lighting, automatic climate control and cruise control.

Mechanically, it derives power from three different powertrain options- a 1.2-litre NA petrol, 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. In terms of safety features, the SUV gets six airbags, a hill-start assist, ABS with EBD, a tyre pressure monitoring system, front and rear parking sensors, electronic stability control, traction control and much more. On 27th April, along with Kia Sonet, the carmaker has also planned to launch the new Seltos. Both SUVs will feature the company’s new brand logo. The updated logo will be equipped on the exteriors, will caps, interiors, steering wheel and so on.
