While the features of each variant might vary, they are all powered by the same engine, a 1.2-litre 4-cylinder K12N Dualjet petrol engine. This engine replaced the old 1.2-litre K12 M unit on the previous version. The new engine is capable of making 90 BHP and 113 Nm. It carries forward the transmission options including a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT gearbox. In addition, Maruti also offers idle start-stop tech along with this engine. However, the Baleno misses out on the SHVS mild-hybrid technology that is available on the Baleno. The mild-hybrid system has boosted the fuel mileage to 23.20 kmpl and 23.76kmpl for the manual and automatic version, respectively. After receiving these updates, the prices of the Maruti Swift have gone up by Rs 15,000 to Rs 24,000.
