Honda Cars India had recently teased the new BS6-compliant Honda Jazz on their website, and now the new model has been spied during a road test. The test mule featured full-body camouflage, which means that the new Jazz will probably undergo a facelift.
2020 Honda Jazz BS6 spied in India
As reported earlier, the 2020 Honda Jazz that’ll go sale in India will not be the same car that is currently being sold in Japan. The JDM Honda Jazz (or Fit, as it is known there) is a new generation model, and is available with a traditional petrol engine paired to a CVT gearbox, along with a new petrol/electric hybrid powertrain. The upcoming India-spec model, however, is the earlier generation model with a few cosmetic updates and a few mechanical upgrades to gain BS6 emission compliance. It also features mild styling revisions for both the interior as well as the exterior.

The engine and transmission options on the 2020 Honda Jazz will remain unchanged over the BS4 version. There are two powerplants on offer, a 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol motor and a 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel mill. The former is capable of generating 90 PS and 110 Nm of maximum power and peak torque, respectively, while the latter is good for 100 PS and 200 Nm. The petrol model offers a choice between a 5-speed manual and a CVT automatic, while the diesel model can only be had with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
The BS6 Honda Jazz will undergo a minor facelift to keep the design fresh
On the technological front, the BS6 Honda Jazz will continue to offer a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, with integrated Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and offline navigation. The design of the interior panels will probably remain unchanged.

In other news, Honda is preparing to launch the new-generation Honda City in India. The car’s introduction to India has already been delayed by the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. The new sedan is expected to be the most powerful car in its segment, even when compared to the new Hyundai Venue turbo.
