BS6 Tata Harrier Available With Discounts Within Months of Launch

Tata Motors is offering a discount of Rs. 30,000 on the updated BS-6 Harrier, making it a good time to get one home.

Tata Harrier is currently the brand’s biggest and brawniest offering in the Indian market, period. While the other body-on-frame Tata SUVs are not sale as of now, Harrier is the only true-blue SUV from the Indian carmaker. It was recently updated to withstand the BS-6 emission compliance. With the update, it got itself a slew of changes on the outside, on the inside, to the drivetrain, and of course to the powertrain as well. So, if the plans of getting on home were on your mind, it is the time to do so, as Tata Motors is offering a discount of Rs. 30,000 on the Harrier. However, this discount is not a direct cash benefit. But, an exchange bonus over the evaluated price of the old car that would be exchanged for a new Harrier.

Talking of the changes that Harrier gets with the update, there are many. Starting with the exterior first, it gets 2 new paint scheme options, namely Sparkle Cocoa and Calypso Red. A new design for the alloy-wheels has also been introduced. The ORVMs are now smaller in size to reduce the blind spot created by them. On the inside, it now gets electrically adjustable driver seat, auto-dimming IRVM, and a massive panoramic sunroof.

Changes to the powertrain are not limited to making it BS-6 compliant, it now boasts of a higher peak power output of 170 PS, instead. The peak torque output, however, stays affirmed at 350 Nm only. An option of 6-speed AT alongside the 6-speed MT is also introduced on the Harrier with the update. The Harrier is based on OMEGA-Arc platform, which is a derivative of Land Rover Discovery’s underpinnings. It also uses the same suspension components on the front as the Discovery. Therefore, it does offer a composed ride on and off the road. Also, it comes with 3 terrain modes – Normal, Wet, and Rough to tackle the trickiest of the situation.
