So why did no airbags open during such a serious accident? First of all, you need to know how airbags work. Airbags will open if there is an impact on the front-end of the vehicle. In this case, the Tata Harrier received no impact at the front or near the area of airbags sensors. As can be seen in the video here, while the front-end of the vehicle has remained largely unaffected, the A-Pillar, the roof and bonnet were completely crumpled in the accident and the front windshield was completely shattered.

Thankfully, the occupants escaped with really minor bruises. This incident, once again, goes on to show the safety and build quality that the Tata Harrier offers. Despite the fact that this Harrier got severe damages after the crash, it managed to keep its passenger entirely safe and save their lives.
