It is not unusual to see a Chinese car brand taking a lot of 'inspiration' from internationally famous cars. While these copycat cars let us all shocked when they first surfaced, by now, we've got so used to them that they pretty much fail to surprise us anymore. Anyway, recently, the Chinese car brand Zotye Auto came up with a new copy-cat car, the Hunkt Canticie. This car is nothing but a duplicate version of the world-famous luxury British car, Range Rover. The car is introduced in the Chinese market under the name Hanlong Kuangshi.
It is not the first time that Zotye Auto has launched a clone vehicle that outrightly steals a famous car design available in the global market. In fact, the Chinese car manufacturer has already been called out multiple times for copying car design. In 2018, the Hunkt Canticie was first launched as the Zotye T800, which was later changed to T900. This Range Rover copycat was later transferred to Hanlong car brand. However, the manufacturing is still done at Zotye’s facilities.

Even though the design of the car was carried over from the Range Rover, the engine of the Hunkt Canticie is completely different. This SUV is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine that puts out a maximum power of 218 Bhp and a peak torque of 370 Nm. It is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The 0-100 kmph run is estimated to take a minimum of 9.19 seconds. This engine is sourced from Hubei Daye Hanlong. While the rear-wheel-drive system is offered on the entry-level variants, the high-spec variants come with an all-wheel-drive system.

On the inside, it is visible that the Canticie has taken various design clues from the Range Rover. Their attempt to deliver their own identification is limited to the addition of a twin-screen layout. This dual-screen setting includes a huge 10.25-inch instrument cluster display and a massive 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

Just like other clone product, the sole reason for the existence of the Hunkt Canticie is its remarkably low price. On average, a Range Rover would cost you around $172,000. On the other hand, the Hunkt Canticie's price is from 159,800 yuan to 243,800 yuan (around $22,640 – 34,490), thereby making it five times cheaper than the original Range Rover.
