Hyundai Grand i10 Nios AMT Now On Sale With All The Bells & Whistles

The top-spec Asta trim of the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios is now being offered with an AMT option. Read on for further details.

Hyundai has recntly launched the turbo-petrol variant of the Grand i10 Nios in India for the price of around Rs 7.72 Lakh (ex-showroom). In a recent update, the South Korean company has now introduced the AMT option on the Grand i10 Nios’s top-spec Asta trim equipped with a 1.2-litre petrol engine. With the updates, the Grand i10 Nios Asta AMT gets the price sticker of Rs 7.67 Lakh while its manual version is positioned at Rs 7.18 Lakh (all prices, ex-showroom), thereby posting a price difference of Rs 49,000.

The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios employs two engines under the bonnet - a 1.2-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine making 82 BHP of power at 6,000 rpm and 114 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm along with a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder diesel motor good for 74 BHP at 4,000 rpm and 190 Nm at 1,750 – 2,250 rpm.

Both the engines are now available with a 5-speed MT or a 5-speed AMT option. That said, if you want the combination of 1.2-litre diesel mill and an AMT gearbox, you can only go for the Sportz variant which is priced at Rs 7.90 Lakh (ex-showroom).

Hyundai unveiled the Grand i10 Nios Turbo at the Auto Expo 2020

Earlier this week, Hyundai brought in a new 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine for the Grand i10 Nios. This engine is the same unit as found on the newly-introduced Hyundai Aura and Hyundai Venue. The mill is available in the Sportz trim only, making it a performance-oriented variant of the vehicle. The new turbo-petrol mill on the Nios can deliver 99 BHP of power at 6,000 rpm and 172 Nm of torque at 1,500 and comes coupled with a 5-speed manual transmission.

Hyundai is also planning to introduce a host of products to the Indian market in the coming months. The first and biggest launch will be the 2020 Hyundai Creta which is set to go on sale on March 17, followed by the Hyundai Verna facelift in April 2020 and the new-gen Hyundai i20 in mid-2020.
