Recently, the German auto manufacturer released several teaser images of the 2020 Passat, which reveals quite a few things about its exterior. You can notice that it carries a more robust design with such features as
Aggressive fascia
Massive and bold grille
LED headlamps which take design cues from the Arteon
Sloping roofline
Sharp body creases
17-inch wheels
Flared wheel arches
Touareg SUV-like polishing tail lamps
The Passat sedan will measure greater in dimensions, which leads to a more amber cabin inside.

Although the teaser does not reveal anything about the interior of the new Passat, we can still guess that it might sport a smarter audio system and a larger 8.0-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, usually found on SUVs. An array of active and passive driver support systems such as blind spot monitor and collision mitigating system, autonomous cruise control system, lane-keeping assist, etc is also likely to be found on the new Passat.

Powering the 2020 facelifted Volkswagen Passat will be a larger version of the 1.4L Evo motor offered in the global market. To be more specific, it will receive the power from the brand-new 1.5L Evo motor. Moreover, the 2.0L engine which is available in the Indian market will remain to be under the hood of the new vehicle. The high-spec GTE variant will be set to team up with the more low-cost hybrid variant to make it more competitive in the Indian auto market. A bigger lithium-ion battery package will be used for a longer travel range with a 48V mild hybrid technology.
