India-made Hyundai Creta Crosses 2 Lakh Export Sales Milestone

Hyundai confirmed that over 2 lakh units of the India-made Hyundai Creta have been shipped to the other markets. The export units of Hyundai Creta are manufactured at Sriperumbudur plant.

Hyundai Creta is one of the key products of the South Korean car manufacturer in the Indian market. This compact SUV has been the best-selling model of its class. Recently, Hyundai Indian has announced an important achievement of its popular model. As per the latest announcement, Hyundai has exported over 2 lakh units of the Indian-made Hyundai Creta aboard.

Hyundai Creta has reached 2 lakh unit export milestone  

To increase the local manufacturing, Hyundai has started the “Make in India, Made for the World” initiative. Under this initiative, Hyundai has commenced the production of the Hyundai Creta for export at its facility in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu.

Last year, Hyundai India has shipped 1,81,200 units of the Hyundai Creta to the international market, accounting for 26% of the total number of exported passenger cars from India. The India-made Hyundai Creta has helped the South Korean carmaker to increase its export share in the last three years. Earlier this year, Hyundai India has crossed the milestone of 3 million units exported from India. Vehicles manufactured in India were exported to 88 countries across the global.

The exported models of Hyundai India include Santro, Grand i10, Grand i10 Nios, Aura, Elite i20, i20 Active, Xcent, Verna, Venue and Creta. These models are shipped to 88 markets in the Asia Pacific, Europe, Latin America, North America, and Africa.

Earlier this year, Hyundai launched the second-gen Hyundai Creta in the Indian market. The new-gen SUV has constantly received positive feedback from the customers. Upon its arrival, the second-gen Creta has taken back the segment-leading position from the Kia Seltos.

Hyundai Creta is currently available with three choices of engines, 1.5-litre petrol (115 PS/144 Nm), a 1.5-litre turbo diesel (115 PS/250 Nm) and a 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine (140 PS/242 Nm). Hyundai Creta is currently available at the starting price of Rs 9.81 lakh. The top-spec Creta can cost up to Rs 17.31 lakh. The 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engine come with a standard 6-speed manual gearbox. However, each of them will be offered with another optional automatic gearbox. While the 1.5-litre petrol engine is available with a CVT, the diesel engine gets a 6-speed torque converter. 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine comes exclusively with a 7-speed DCT.
