The home-grown carmaker, Mahindra & Mahindra has introduced a new S9 variant of the Scorpio to the Indian auto space with a competitive price of Rs 13.99 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). With this pricing range, the Scorpio S9 trim is more affordable than the S11 but it still comes with key standard features as compared to its sibling.

Concerning the features, Mahindra has put a lot of effort to revive the new variant of Scorpio. The S9 trim appears more aggressively in the competition with a plethora of cutting-edge features combined with a reasonable price. The sport utility vehicle shows up in a more robust appearance like the S11 counterpart. It comes with a silver front grille inserts, redesigned tailgate, rear bumper and footrest, refreshed projector headlamps, LED light guides, body-coloured outside rear view mirrors with turn indicators, hydraulic assisted bonnet and fog lamps. Besides, the new Scorpio offers additional features such as:

Mechanically, the Mahindra Scorpio S9 continues to utilize the same powerhouse like the S11 variant. It sources the power from a BSIV compliant 2.2-litre mHawk 4-cylinder diesel engine that churns out 140 bhp of power per 320 Nm of torque. The mill will be mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox and 4WD system.

With its attractive price, the new Scorpio will bitterly rival the likes of Tata Harrier and Hyundai Creta
The new Scorpio variant will be available in the Mahindra’s dealerships across India from November 12, 2018. The SUV will lock horns against the likes of Hyundai Creta, Renault Duster and even the forthcoming Tata Harrier.
