The home-grown automaker first introduced the 2019 TUV300 SUV to the market in 2015. Nevertheless, the vehicle does not satisfy the demands of the company as well as the customers. The compact SUV had a good start with a 4000-unit sale per month, but this could not be maintained. Mahindra is now underway for the development of the new-gen Mahindra TUV300 to meet the market’s demands and to boost up the total sales.
Projected to be launched in the second quarter of next year (although not has been confirmed by Mahindra), the facelifted Mahindra TUV300 will bring some necessary upgrades to the previous model. Firstly, we will focus on the cosmetic updates of the new TUV300 SUV over the outgoing model. The heavily camouflaged mule does not reveal much detail but does indicate some possible changes including
Brand-new grille
New projector headlights with LED DRLs
Novel 15-inch alloy wheels
New cover on the tailgate
New spare wheel mount
The exterior of the Mahindra TUV300 witnesses some necessary updates over the outgoing model
The interior is also considerably improved with some cutting-edge features such as
High-quality seat covering
Touchscreen infotainment system
Start push button
Reverse parking camera
With respect to the engine and transmission, the Mahindra TUV300 facelift will continue to be powered by the same 1.5L diesel motor which is good for a max power of 100bhp and a peak torque of 240Nm. The transmission duties are undertaken by a five-speed MT or an optional AMT unit.
The Mahindra TUV300 will maintain to use the 1.5L diesel motor
Once launched in India, the new TUV300 SUV is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 8.5 lakh to Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom). At this price, it will take on the likes of the Renault Duster and the upcoming Nissan Kicks.
The outgoing TUV300 SUV has not seen good sales due to its bad styling, which is expected to be resolved by Mahindra with the facelifted model. Besides the 2019 TUV300 facelift, the domestic auto manufacturer has also launched the Marazzo and the Alturas and is preparing the new XUV300, which is expected to be a formidable competitor against the Maruti Brezza and the Tata Nexon. With the introduction of the four new SUVs to the market, Mahindra anticipates to boost its sales in the coming time and to regain its position in the SUV segment, which is now being dominated by Maruti Suzuki.
