MG ZS EV Will Be Available Through Self-Driving Rentals From 2020

MG India has partnered with Lithium Urban Technologies to offer the upcoming ZS EV for self-driving cars.

Recently, Lithium Urban Technologies has partnered with the new entrant MG Motor India, to offer the company’s upcoming ZS electric vehicle on its self-driving and car rental platform. MG will introduce the ZS EV in our market on 5th December 2019 and it’ll join Lithium Urban Technologies line-up of EVs by January 2020. The company says that the MG ZS EV will be available to consumers for inter-state travel and corporate use and the EV is claimed to offer a range of 300 km. The ZS EV will be the second product offered by the Chinese carmaker in the Indian market. The electric SUV will initially go on sale in five major cities, namely- Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Ahemdabad. The carmaker will initiate the bookings of the car by next month.

MG will introduce the ZS EV in our market on 5th December 2019 and it’ll join Lithium Urban Technologies line-up of EVs by January 2020.

The MG ZS EV will derive power from a 44.5kWh lithium-ion battery that churns out 150hp of power. The electric SUV offers a range of 335 km as per the older NEDC test cycle and 262 km range as per the all-new WLTP testing cycle. It’ll take around 7 hours for the EV to get fully charged through a 7kW AC charger. On the other hand, a 50kW DC fast-charger will charge the EV from 0-80 per cent in just 40 minutes.

The company says that the upcoming MG ZS EV will be available to consumers for inter-state travel and corporate use, and the EV is claimed to offer a range of 300 km.

The exact specifications of the India-spec MG ZS EV will be revealed at the time of its debut next month. Moreover, the car manufacturer has also started setting up the fast-charging stations at significant locations across the five metro cities. After the purchase of this electric SUV, MG ZS EV customers will get free permit to access the facility for a limited period. MG will locally manufacturer ZS EV at its Halol facility. The SUV is expected to carry a price tag of Rs 22 lakh (ex-showroom).
