Skoda stopped offering the Skoda Kodiaq in our market due to the implementation of the BSVI emission norms. When it was still on sale, the Kodiaq was powered by a single diesel engine. However, after the BSVI regulations were implemented, Skoda has discontinued all the diesel engines on their range and switched to petrol engines. Accordingly, the same will be true for the Skoda Kodiaq if this model returns to the Indian market. In the meanwhile, on the international market, the Czech car brand is about to receive a facelift on April 13 2021. Ahead of the launch, Skoda has revealed the sketch images of the Kodiaq facelift.
Skoda Kodiaq is about to receive a facelift in the international market
As per the preview images, the facelift Skoda Kodiaq will look almost similar to the existing model with only few minor updates. On the front, Skoda Kodiaq gets a revised bonnet and a tweaked grille which looks in line with the one used on the new Skoda Kushaq. The bumper is also restyled with a wider air dam and gets aluminium accents. The headlamps now look thinner than the previous version. For the rear end, the same styling approach is also applied to the taillights. The taillights are also trimmed down and get a signature crystalline pattern. The same details can also be seen on the upcoming Skoda Kushaq.

The facelift Kodiaq will get some minor styling updates
Under the hood, the facelift Skoda Kodiaq will be powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder TSI turbo-petrol engine that makes 190hp and 320Nm. With these power outputs, the new petrol unit is significantly more powerful compared to the diesel engine used on the BSIV Skoda Kodiaq. However, Skoda will keep the same transmission option which is a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox.
