China has already earned a pretty bad name around the world for copying the designs of famous automobiles. So far, we’ve already seen several cases filed against the Chinese carmakers for copyright infringement and still, there are several new cars in the Chinese market which are heavily 'inspired' from some popular models around the world. These copied vehicles are motly sold only in the Chinese car market and no strict action has been taken against their carmakers. Well, here we have got images of a recently launched copycat car in the Chinese market named as Maple 30X. The design of this model is a blatant copy of..you guessed it.. the Tata Nexon.

Geely-Kandi, a subsidiary of Fengsheng Automobiles recently introduced the Maple 30X in the Chinese market. This compact SUV is a fully electric car and retails at a price of roughly Rs 7.5 lakh in Indian currency. The Chinese auto market is now becoming a hotspot for cheap electric cars, and this SUV is one more addition to the bandwagon. In terms of looks, this Chinese model looks very similar to the Tata Nexon facelift, which was launched in our market earlier this year. Moreover, the same design can also be seen on the Nexon EV, which is the most affordable electric SUV in the Indian market at the moment.

The Chinese Maple 30X is a fully eletric SUV
Now let’s talk about the similarities of both of these cars. The Maple 30X features a single enclosure for the grille along with projector headlamps, which looks quite similar to the ones offered with the facelifted Tata Nexon. Furthermore, the bonnet lid employed by the Maple 30X looks highly inspired by the Nexon. The side profile of the new Fensheng Maple 30X looks even more identical because of the two-tone paint job the car offers. Honestly, at first glance, the styling of the Maple 30X will definitely remind you of the India-spec Tata Nexon facelift. The automakers around the world are investing crores of rupees for developing a new vehicle, and it takes no time for the carmakers in China to replicate them.
