The affinity of the Indian audience for the pickup trucks is really low. Many of us would not even know if there was any on sale before the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross. However, there were many. But the most renowned of all is the Mahindra Bolero Camper. In simple words, it is the pickup truck iteration of the Bolero. Well, it is a tough find these days, and buying a new one isn’t an easy job either. Given its cult status among the enthusiasts, most of them are now modified to look brutal. Here’s one that we came across via a YouTube video, which was uploaded by Auto Garage on their channel.

In the video, the host showcases a tastefully modified example of the Bolero Camper pickup truck. It is the pre-facelift model, thus sports a set of rectangular headlamps. Talking of the modification, it is extensive. To start with, it is now painted in a bright orange colour scheme with contrast black elements. On the front, it gets an off-road spec bumper which is winch compatible and comes with two heavy-duty tow shackles. On the sides, the stock tyres are now replaced with massive MT-spec tyres.

The tuner has also fitted it with rock sliders. The wheel arches and the roof are painted in black to stick with the Orange-Black dual-tone theme. Also, it gets GMC decals on the doors. Moving over to the rear, the tailgate is a custom-made unit and houses the spare wheel. Moreover, it gets a custom tonneau cover, off-road bumper, tow hitch, and auxiliary lamps on the roof. This dual-tone theme is also carried over to the interior. The seats are now upholstered in leather, while the rear bench is now replaced with captain chairs.

Powering this modified Mahindra Bolero Camper is the 2.5L Di turbocharged diesel engine. This setup is capable of putting out a rated power output of 72 PS and max torque of 200 Nm. It comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox; however, this tuned example gets a 4-speed unit. It also gets a 4x4 drivetrain with low-ratio gearbox and solid axles.
