With the launches of many new seven-seater cars in the past few years, there are now more options for the customers to choose from. Here is the list of the best seven-seater cars under 10 lakh in 2021.
In the past few years, we have seen significant growth in the automotive market especially in the SUV segment. The demand for SUVs indirectly boosts the preference for larger vehicles like MPVs. We have seen many new models enter this market. Moreover, the launches of these new models also push the price benchmark down significantly, allowing the car buyers to purchase a seven-seater even with a small budget of under 10 lakh. This is the list of 7 seater cars under 10 lakh in 2021.
Datsun Go Plus
Price: Rs 4.25 lakh – Rs 6.99 lakh
Priced from Rs 4.25 lakh, Datsun Go Plus is one of the most affordable seven-seater vehicles in the market. First introduced in 2014, the car has become an important staple as the entry-level seven-seater model with super attractive pricing. Last year, Datsun has updated the GO and GO Plus to meet the new emission norms.
Apart from the attractive pricing, Datsun also tries to offer a well-loaded package for the Go Plus. This seven seater is equipped with features like LED DRLs, 14-inch machine-cut-alloy wheels, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There are a few safety fitments on offer, including ABS with EBD, dual front airbags, rear parking sensors, brake assist, and electric stability control.
It is available with a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol unit that churns out 68 PS (MT)/77 PS (AMT) and 104 Nm. A 5-speed manual gearbox is offered as standard while a CVT is available as an option for the top-spec variants.
It should be noted that, compared to a full-size seven-seater, this small 7-seater model is not as roomy when it comes to the interior space. The added third row, in fact, cannot accommodate adult passengers. Only small kids are suitable to sit here.
Being a minivan, Maruti Eeco is more about practicality rather than convenience and comfort like other passenger vehicles. It is also the most affordable model on this list of 7-seater cars under 10 lakh in 2021.
If you are looking for a daily driver for commuting purpose, it might not be the right choice. The car lacks modern technologies and features, meaning a low score for comfort and convenience. However, if you are expecting a workhorse and a people-mover, Maruti Eeco with its high focus on practicality and efficiency will be a good fit. The purchasing cost is very affordable. Moreover, Maruti Eeco is low on maintenance in the long run.
This people-mover is powered by a 1.2-litre N.A petrol engine that makes 73 PS and 98 Nm. It is mated to a 5-speed MT gearbox. There is also a CNG version of the Eeco on sale. The CNG-fitted model offers lower power output of 63 PS/85 Nm and the mileage of 20.88 km/kg.
Price: Rs 5.30 lakh – Rs 7.82 lakh
Renault Triber is the latest model to enter the list of 7-seater cars under 10 lakh in 2021. The Triber is among the few 7-seater MPV cars in India to measure under 4 meter. Due to the small size, the Triber looks more like a crossover rather than a genuine MPV.
That being said, the mini MPV still gets something special under its sleeves. Besides being priced competitively, the Renault Triber also gains attention thanks to its well-loaded feature list. The small MPV is available with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple Carplay support, digital instrument cluster, height-adjustable driver seat, multifunction steering wheel, rear AC vents (for both second and third row), push-button start-stop.
Under the hood, it derives power from a 1.0-litre petrol engine that provides 72 PS and 96 Nm. There are two choices of transmissions, a 5-speed manual and an AMT gearbox. It is expected that the Triber will soon receive a turbocharged unit with higher power outputs.
Maruti Ertiga is the most popular MPV under the 10 lakh mark. At the starting price of Rs 7.69 lakh, the Ertiga can pull out an excellent exterior design, decent feature list and refined performance. It is an all-rounder in the segment within the 10 lakh price bracket. The Ertiga is retailed via the premium Nexa outlets.
The Ertiga comes with some essential features like projector headlamps, LED taillights, 15-inch wheels, a 7-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a push-button start-stop, automatic climate control, rear AC vents. In addition, there are some safety features, including dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors, and ISOFIX child seat anchor. The automatic version will get some additional functions like ESP and hill hold assist.
Maruti is offering a 1.5-litre petrol engine (105 PS and 138 Nm) for the Ertiga. This engine is available with a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 4-speed automatic transmission. For under 10 lakh, there is only the VXI variant that offers automatic transmission. This variant is priced at Rs 9.64 lakh.
The last model on this list is an SUV. The Bolero is also the only true seven-seater SUV on the lot. Being the only monocoque sub-four-meter SUV in the market, the Bolero has a unique position. Compared to other seven-seaters on this list, the Mahindra Bolero is built differently. While other seven-seaters are developed with a focus on comfort and practicality, the Bolero’s strength lies in its tough build and off-road compatibility. The offroad SUV is equipped with the bare basics like a digital instrument cluster, Bluetooth-connected sound system with AUX and USB connectivity, keyless entry, AC and power steering.
