The engine options of the Kia Sonet includes a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol, a 1.2-litre petrol, and a 1.5-litre diesel unit. The first two petrol units can provide a power output of 120PS/172Nm, and 83PS/115Nm, respectively. The 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine is offered with a 6-speed iMT and a 7-speed DCT. The larger petrol unit is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The diesel unit comes with two states of tunes, depending on the gearbox option. The 6-speed manual-diesel combination is good for 100PS and 240Nm while the AMT-diesel can generate 115PS and 250Nm.

Last year, Hyundai has launched the new-gen version of the Hyundai Creta. Besides the cosmetic updates, the new-gen Hyundai Creta also gets new powertrain options. There are three engines, including a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol (115PS/144Nm), a 1.5-litre diesel (115PS/250Nm), and a 1.4-litre turbo-petrol (140PS/242Nm).
