Mercedes-Benz’s entry-level crossover is one of the upcoming premium SUVs in India 2021. Presently, Mercedes-Benz doesn’t have any model in the entry-level premium SUV. In fact, the new GLA was set to be introduced in October last year but the German company has shelved its plan due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The upcoming Mercedes-Benz GLA is slated to come to us in July this year. It will retain the original silhouette but for a bigger size. The car will look a bit more butch with the sculpted lines on the profiles and bonnet. The 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLA will sport a lot of features on the inside. The powertrains are likely to be a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol and diesel engine options along with AMG version.

We’ve been waiting for the second-gen Audi Q3 in India for so long. Fortunately, the wait is almost over as the 2021 Audi Q3 is coming in mid-2021. Design-wise, the 2021 Audi Q3 will get big inspiration from the Q8. Due to the increase in dimensions, the Audi Q3 will be roomier than the previous model. Expect a lot of premium features will be incorporated in the new Q3 for better in-car experience. For India, the Audi Q3 will likely use a mere 2.0-litre petrol engine mated to a 7-speed DCT auto gearbox. Once launched, the 2021 Audi Q3 will compete against the likes of Volvo XC40, Mercedes-Benz GLA and BMW X1.

The Volkswagen Tiguan will receive a facelift in May this year. The upcoming premium SUV will sport a number of cosmetic changes like a sleeker grille and refreshed LED headlamps. The new Tiguan will be powered by a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine that comes paired with a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission as the T-Roc. The SUV will likely be assembled at the company’s Chakan plant and come in a front-wheel-drive form to keep the cost in check.

Next up in the list of upcoming premium SUVs in India is the 2021 Skoda Kodiaq. Recently, Skoda revealed the India-bound Kodiaq facelift in the international market. The upcoming premium SUV will boast of a design makeover and new technology. The Skoda Kodiaq facelift will be offered a 1.5-litre TSI and a 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine options.
Skoda first introduced the Kodiaq in India in 2017, but it was discontinued before the BS-VI norms roll out. It is set to come back to the Indian market in July-September 2021.

The 2021 Audi Q5 is expected to be launched in India during the first half of 2021. The 2021 Audi Q5 has been spotted driving in a road test recently, suggesting the imminent launch of the model. The facelifted Audi Q5 will receive an updated exterior with a new single-frame octagonal grille, revised front and rear bumpers alongside new lighting setups. Powering the 2021 Audi Q5 facelift will be a 2.0-litre TFSI turbo-petrol engine. In its latest iteration, the engine is capable of generating 261 HP of power and 370 Nm of peak torque. While the international version is available with a 2.0-litre TDI engine, we aren’t sure if this motor could make it to India or not. The expected price of the upcoming premium SUV is around Rs 55 lakh mark (estimated).

The Audi Q7 has also been missing from the brand’s product portfolio for quite some time. In this updated avatar, the new Q7 will return with a host of styling changes that give the SUV a more butch look, in line with Audi’s family SUVs. The Q7’s interior will be done up as well, with the introduction of Audi’s twin-touchscreen MMI infotainment system. The 2021 Audi Q7 will get a 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine option which is likely to be the sole engine offered in the India-spec version.
