Hyundai Verna 2020 Facelift also looks fresh in its own way
Compared to Honda City 2020, Hyundai Verna looks sleeker with its dominant cascading grille and aggressive headlights, together with a sculptured fog light housing. Undoubtedly, this plush design will attract a large following in the Chinese market. However, in our market, car buyers are still showing some resistance toward this design style from Hyundai, take Toyota Yaris for example. Coming to the rear end, Hyundai is showing a convincing design which looks completely different from any other Hyundai cars.
Both Honda City and Hyundai Verna 2020 will carry a dual-tone interior theme. Besides, both cars will employ 8-inch touchscreens with all the necessary connectivity support.
Taking on the full connotation of a generation upgrade, the new-gen Honda City will receive a new dashboard design. Along with the growing size, the Honda City now allows the occupants to enjoy an even better interior space.

On the other hand, the facelifted Hyundai Verna will not see many major changes regarding interior design. The interior is enhanced by some twists in the material uses and slightly curvier silhouette.

For the Honda City, the interior now comes with an 8-inch Honda Connect infotainment touchscreen supported by both Apple Carplay and Android Auto at the centre of the dashboard. Additionally, Honda City also sports features like an automatic sunroof, push-button start-stop and cruise control. On the base variant, Honda City will offer height-adjustable driver seat function, one push ignition, and multifunction steering wheel. The Honda City RS will be added with a cruise control system, paddle-shift as well as an 8-speaker system.
Following the current trend of providing highly-advanced connectivity support, Hyundai also has the new Verna loaded with some distinctive features such as the Hyundai Blue Link connectivity system, full digital MID. For a facelift version, these updates are beyond the expectation.
The outgoing engines powering Honda City are the most powerful units in its class. Coming to the new generation, Honda will continue to utilize these units after updating them to meet the new emission norms. Hyundai Verna facelift, on the other hand, will carry the engines from the Kia Seltos to its motor range.
On the petrol range, Honda City is likely to retain its current engine offer which is acknowledged as the most powerful in its space. It will be powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine which puts out a maximum power of 119 PS and a 145 Nm of peak torque. It comes with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a CVT gearbox. Apart from this, the Honda City also gets a 1.0-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol engine which 122 PS and 173 PS. However, this performance-oriented trim is unlikely to make its way to India market.
