Exterior Design

The Honda City is a quite premium-looking sedan and the facelifted model receives some enhancements. In the front, it gets a black slimmer honeycomb grille, newly designed first-in-segment LED headlights, LED DRLs, a new front bumper, LED fog lights and smaller fog light closures. The old alloy rims have been redesigned and also got larger as well to become 16-inch ones. In the rear, the car comes with dual-tone LED taillights, a stoplight integrated to the new rear spoiler, illuminated LED number plate and a rear bumper that gets a black honeycomb insert.

The facelifted Maruti Ciaz comes with quite a few new features from the previous version, especially in the front. The former features new all-LED projector headlights, C-shaped LED fog lights and taillights. The grille is now wider and flanked by the two headlights. The cabin of the Honda City comes with a black-beige-and-silver paint scheme and a quite good overall quality. The cabin is quite roomy and it can easily accommodate up to five occupants; nevertheless, the tall rear and middle passengers may feel a bit restricted in long journeys.

Coming to the Maruti Ciaz, the cabin is extremely similar to that of the previous version. The layout bears a strong resemblance to that of the old model so no unpleasant surprises exist. All the controls become handy and are positioned in the desired place.

While the interior design of the Honda City focuses on the amber space for the passengers, that of the Maruti Ciaz since it has already come with a roomy cabin, the sedan pays more attention to the convenience of the functions’ positions.

Convenience features

The Honda City’s steering wheel now comes with reach adjustment, which helps you detect the perfect driving position. The sunroof gets the one-touch operation. Moreover, the Japanese automaker also equipped its sedan with an additional kit like auto headlights and auto wipers. A new seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system labelled the ‘Digipad’ has been developed for the Honda City. This system comes with MirrorLink and Wi-Fi connectivity. The City also offers two USB ports. Moreover, the system also gets voice command recognition for the navigation system, telephony and entertainment systems. Other outstanding features of the infotainment system consist of an SD card slot for media files, Bluetooth telephony and audio streaming, an HDMI port and a 1.5GB of internal memory. In the Maruti Ciaz, the feature list has experienced some new additions. The new dials and 4.2-inch coloured MID are sure to attract your attention. The Ciaz is now equipped with the auto cruise; the wood inserts have now been finished in a ‘birch blond’ colour, which is lighter than before.  Other features to be appreciated are the decent legroom for the driver and the adjustable headrest in the rear. The Maruti Ciaz is also well-equipped with a leather-wrapped steering wheel, 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, leather seat coverings, rear air-conditioning vents and reverse parking sensors. It would be better if the sedan is equipped with a sunroof; nevertheless, it is surprising that Maruti Suzuki has decided not to do so.

Safety and security features

The Honda City has better safety features than previously. Dual airbags, ABS and rear ISOFIX child seat mounts are provided as standard across all the variants. Moreover, the top-spec variant is even equipped with six airbags.
