The recently-launched second-generation Hyundai Creta is one of the most exciting cars by the South Korean carmaker. It looks sharp, feels premium, is tech-loaded, and considering everything it offers, quite affordable too. That said, there is another SUV by the same manufacturer which is almost as good for a little less price, the Hyundai Venue. Let’s briefly compare the two.

First, let’s discuss the design and styling. Both the vehicles offer vertically split headlamps and LED DRLs, a trend quite popular these days with SUVs. That said, The Venue has a much more subtle design, while the Creta is more of an attention grabber, with better road-presence as well. At the rear, the Venue has a very conservative design, whereas the Creta mirrors the headlamp design for the taillights. The new Creta is also significantly larger than the Venue.

As a consequence of bigger dimensions, the Creta also offer better interior space. The equipment is also better, with a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, ventilated seats (front row), electrically adjustable driver’s seat, air purifier system, panoramic sunroof, remote engine start, e-parking brake, and voice command recognition. While both the cars offer ‘BlueLink’ app suite, the Creta gets 50+ connected car features, while the Venue gets 33.

Both the SUVs offer three engine options, a complete breakdown of which is given above. It can clearly be noted that the Creta is the more powerful one, while the Venue is the more economical one. Also, the Creta is offered with an automatic option for all the engine choices, while the Venue only offers one on the turbo-petrol version.

Lastly, we come to the price. The second-generation Hyundai Creta retails for Rs. 9.99 to 17.2 lakh, while the Hyundai Venue is priced from Rs. 6.7 to 11.5 lakh. There’ a difference of nearly 3 lakh rupees between the base variants of both. If you’re considering between the higher trims of Venue and lower trims of the Creta, only buy the latter if you’re looking for extra interior space. If not, stick to the smaller, economical, more affordable car.
