Based on the current GLA-class SUV, the 2021 Mercedes AMG GLA 45 will make its debut at the 2020 Geneva Motor Show next month. Ahead of its official debut, the GLA 45 has been revealed online in its full glory. Alongside the A 45 and the CLA 45, the GLA 45 is the third model to adopt the M139 2.0-litre turbo four-cylinder petrol engine. This engine is capable of making a peak power of 387 Bhp and a max torque of 480 Nm. Mated to an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission, the engine will have its power sent to the four wheels via the 4MATIC AWD system.

The most exciting part of the Mercedes AMG GLA 45 is its acceleration. It takes the car only 4.3 seconds to sprint from idle to 100 kmph. The top speed of this car is 250 kmph. Mercedes also provides a race-start mode for the performance SUV which allow the car to quickly pick up the performance on the go. The performance enhancement is a direct result of the mechanical updates. Besides the new engine, the GLA 45 also features a reworked suspension system with reduced torque steer and lowered unsprung weight. The adaptive dampers that come in all three models also help to improve the suspension setting. Besides that, an aluminium plate is added under the engine to add stiffness to the front.
Mercedes Benz AMG GLA 35 will be thoroughly updated in terms of engineering
As for the braking system, the Mercedes Benz AMG GLA 45 features 13.8-inch discs for both the front and rear wheels. However, while the front disc comes with four-piston callipers, the rear discs will get a single-piston calliper. The AMG Dynamic Plus Package comprising of 14.2-inch discs and six-piston callipers is also provided.

Compared to the regular GLA, the GLA 45 version is revised to look sportier and butch. At the front end, it features the familiar Panamericana grille along with LED headlights. It is easy to notice the new flared fenders which make the design appear more muscular. On the side profile, the size of the wheels is extended to 19 inches. Besides it also comes with an optional set of 21-inch alloy wheels. The rear end gets a roof-mounted spoiler and a revamped bumper with 3.2-inch exhausted pipes.

On the inside, the 45 version of the GLA AMG gets a piano black accents and Nappa leather-covered steering wheel. The GLA 45 is equipped with a larger seat bolsters which will provide better support for the occupants. AMG Performance seats also come as an option. Mercedes-Benz AMG GLA 45 is expected to arrive the Indian shore by the end of this year or in early 2021.
