Yesterday, Volkswagen Group announced its plan to extend the production line-up in the global market by the world’s premiere of the T-Cross in Amsterdam, Shanghai and Sao Paulo. Regarding the design, the VW T-Cross underpins the same MQB-A0 platform as the Polo and the Virtus. While featuring a masculine design, the new-gen T-Cross still holds independent characteristics that will lead the transformation for the new generations of Volkswagen cars. The mini SUV measures 4107 mm long, 1750 mm wide and 1558 high. The T-cross also comes with the long-wheelbase version with 4199 mm in length and 1568 mm in height. Particularly, the Volkswagen T-Cross will offer 12 interior colours dominating the dashboard and the cabin.

Under the hood, the all-new SUV T-Cross is expected to offer both petrol and diesel oil burner. The engine will vary from 90PS 1.0-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol to 95PS 1.6-litre turbo-diesel units that are all mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and 6-speed direct-shift gearbox (DSG).
The all-new Volkswagen T-Cross will hit the international market in mid-April next year. It will reach the Indian shores as a sub-four metre SUV around 2021 to rival against Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and Ford Ecosport.
