Kia Brand Relaunched In India, Gets New Name And Logo

The South Korean automaker will be known as Kia India from now on. Along with the brand relaunch, Kia confirmed that it will be launching the updated Seltos and Sonet in the upcoming weeks. Full story below.

South Korean automaker Kiarecently revealed its new logo which will soon make its way to the Indian lineup. The manufacturer has also changed its name from Kia Motors India to Kia India. Apart from its homeland of South Korea, India is the only country yet where Kia has conducted its brand relaunch exercise. With the change, Kia claims that it is eyeing more than just vehicles to sustain itself long term in the Indian market. The brand has also changed its slogan to “Movement that inspires.”

Addressing the brand relaunch, Mr Tae-Jin Park, Executive Director and Chief Sales and Business Strategy Officer, Kia India, commented, “Under the new brand slogan, Kia will focus on offering meaningful experiences to the customers, especially focused on the millennials and Gen-Z – the future of the country. With Kia’s new brand identity and our refreshed portfolio, we are extremely elated to have a purpose-driven business that will elevate the customer experience not just in terms of the features and connectivity inside the cars, but the overall engagement experience with our brand.”

Kia also confirmed that they will launch the updated Seltos and Sonet in the country, and they will come bearing the new logo. Additionally, the automaker is aiming to strengthen its service network in India with 360 new touchpoints in 218 different cities, including tier-3 and tier-4 towns. Kia is the fastest automaker in India to cross the 2.5 lakh sales milestone and currently holds the fourth position in terms of annual sales.

The updated Kia Seltos and Sonet will go on sale next month, and alongside the new logos, will come with an updated featured list. Both SUVs will get paddle shifters for the automatic variants, while the Seltos is likely to come with a panoramic sunroof. An all-new model for the Seltos is slated for a launch by the end of the year.
