Kia was betting big on Carnival, which happens to be the brand’s luxury MPV offering as the car marker was planning to take on a large market share with this product. The manufacturer has now launched this spacious MPV at a starting price of Rs. 24.95 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). The car will be offered in a total of 3 trims, namely Premium, Prestige, and Limousine. There will be 3 seating configurations on offer, with a seating capacity of 7,8, and 9. The Limousine trim will, however, be available only with a 7-seater configuration, while the Prestige and Premium will miss out on an 8-seat and 9-seat configuration respectively.
Kia has its second product in the Indian market with the launch of Kia Carnival.
With a starting price northwards of Rs. 24 lakhs, the Carnival is not a cheap offering by any means. Instead, it sits on the top end of the premium MPV space. And to suffice this price tag, Kia offers a lot of features to the occupants. To start with, it gets dual-pane electronic sunroof, powered tailgate, window sunshade for 2nd and 3rd rows, air purifier, UVO connected tech, tri-zone climate control, electronic parking brake, cruise control, 8-speaker Harman-Kardon system with independent 10.1-inch screen for second-row passengers, 220V power outlet and more. It is obvious by now the feature list of the Kia Carnival is a never-ending affair.

The MPV also gets some flamboyancy on the outside as well. Performing the job adding the glitz here are styling elements like Tiger-Nose grille, 28-inch alloy wheels with sputtered wheel, and smart LED headlamps with sharply designed DRLs. With a length of around 5 meters, the Kia carnival has a massive road presence. To power this mammoth of an MPV is a 2.2L 4-cylinder CRDi diesel engine, which is capable enough to produce a healthy output of 200PS and 440Nm as its peak output. Channelling the power to the front wheels is an eight-speed Sportsmatic transmission.
Kia measures a shade over 5 meters in length to offer sheer expanse of space to the occupants.
With a never-ending feature list, Carnival is loaded to the brim, but with a price tag which places the low-end variant of the Carnival in competition with Innova’s top-end variant, it would be interesting to see how Kia Carnival would fare against the competition.
