Following the positive momentum of the Mahindra Quanto and TUV300, Mahindra eyed again on the sub-4-metre B-SUV with the soon-to-be-launched XUV300 in the domestic auto space. It is the first-in-segment compact SUV to come with dual-zone automatic climate control in India. This time around, the new SUV will aggressively rival the likes of Maruti Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon and Ford Ecosport and even the Hyundai Creta.

The fascination of the Mahindra XUV 300’s production story must be under the hood. Sourcing the power from two derivations comprising a new 1.2-litre 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine and a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbo diesel burner which can produce the class-leading figures of 130 PS/160 Nm and 123 PS/300 Nm, respectively. While the former is slated to come engaged with a 6-speed MT or AMT gearbox, the diesel version will be mated to a 6-step manual transmission. Mahindra has confirmed to launch the XUV300 in the country on February 15, 2019. The pricing range of the SUV will sit at around Rs 7.5 Lakh to Rs 8 Lakh (ex-showroom, India).
