As the nationwide lockdown is eased off, Maruti delivers over 5,000 vehicles. Maruti ensured that all dealership followed the SoPs as directed by the government.

Maruti Suzuki is fighting tooth and nail to induce financial liquidity in its dealership networks. The carmaker has delivered over 5,000 units in the last few days of lockdown 3.0. This was possible for the carmaker only after the government eased off the lockdown by dividing districts into various zones. However, new SoPs (Standard Operating Procedures) were introduced to operate the dealerships, which Maruti is making sure that all of its dealers are abiding by. Currently, Maruti has resumed operation at over 400 of its dealerships. By the end of lockdown 4.0, the carmaker will start operating over 1350 showrooms and over 300 True Value outlets.

Maruti has also started home delivery of its vehicle. The first reported delivery was of an S-Presso from a dealership in Kerela. However, the first from carmaker’s premium Nexa outlet was an XL-6. The manufacturer is currently accepting bookings via its online platform. Once the booking is made, a sales personnel is assigned to the customer to take care of further processes. It can be said that online booking and home delivery of cars has worked in Maruti’s favour when people are paranoid to visit public places.

On this note, Mr. Kenichi Ayukawa, Managing Director and CEO, Maruti Suzuki India added,

“We are happy to serve the customers, who were waiting to drive home their favourite car. The Company has put in place comprehensive norms to ensure that their car buying experience is completely safe. These norms are based on guidelines from the Central and State Governments. We would like to encourage our customers to digitally choose and book their car and take advantage of the convenience of home delivery of their new vehicles. On behalf of Maruti Suzuki, I would like to appeal to all citizens to strictly follow the health advisories and guidelines issued by the government. I am confident that together we will emerge stronger.”
