Early this year, Mercedes-Benz launched the new-gen GLE in the Indian market, but it was only offered in diesel engine variantss namely- GLE 300d and GLE 400d Hip Hop Edition. Now the German automaker has launched two more variants of the SUV in our market- GLE 450 and GLE400d.The GLE 450 petrol priced at a starting price tag of Rs 88.80 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), going all the way up to Rs 89.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the GLE400d trim. Now, the Mercedes-Benz GLE line-up comprises of four distinctive trim levels- GLE 300d, GLE450, GLE 400d and GLE 400d Hip Hop Edition.

The new GLE petrol is launched in two different trim levels
With the launch of the new GLE 400d, customers now have the options to buy a petrol-powered GLE. The new Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 derives power from a 3.0-litre, six-pot, turbocharged petrol engine mated to a 48V mild-hybrid system. The IC engine puts out 367bhp of power and 500 Nm of torque and the mild-hybrid system further adds 22bhp and 250 Nm of more power and torque. Transmission duties are done by a 9-speed automatic gearbox, sending power to all four wheels. The automaker claims that the petrol-powered GLE 450 can sprint front 0-100 kmph in just 5.7 seconds.
Mr Martin Schwenk, MD & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India said, “The new GLE LWB has already excited the market and has a 3 months waiting period. With the introduction of a petrol model, we expect it to further drive its popularity and cater to the requirements of those customers who waited for a petrol model."

These features include 20-inch alloy wheels, multi-beam LED headlamps, memory function for front seats, electrically adjustable rear seats, 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with company’s latest MBUX software, four-zone climate control, active air suspension, a panoramic sunroof and much more. Moreover, the new SUV comes loaded with safety features like multiple airbags, 360-degree camera with hands-free parking function, blind-spot monitoring and active brake assist.
